Several French partners of the RES-DHC project, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Energy Regional Energy Environment Agency (AURA-EE) and the French Atomic Energy and the Alternative Energy Commission (CEA) organized the Regional Day on decarbonized heating and cooling networks with nearly 70 participants as part of the Pollutec exhibition in Lyon.

The introduction of the seminar was held by the director of the Environment and Energy Department at the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Catherine Azzopardi, deputy regional director of ADEME Emmanuel Goy, programme manager at the CEA Philippe Azais as well as the director of AURA-EE, Didier Chateau. The input of PlanEnergi on thermal storage in Denmark has been of great interest to regional actors. A presentation by AMORCE and FEDENE followed that focused on regulatory developments in building and planning for heating and cooling networks.

After that, a round table was held on how to finance the decarbonisation of heating networks, with the participation of Reinhard Six from the European Investment Bank. The President of Via Sèva association concluded the morning session with the presentation of a territorial prospective study in cooperation with Manergy (engineering office).

These high-level presentations helped to stimulate discussions during the afternoon workshops, which focused on lowering network temperatures and energy loops, digital tools, and thermal storage.

Finally, the pitch competition that took place at the end of the day rewarded Syane for the local wood network of Ambilly-Ville-la-Grand in France as well as Engie solutions France for their concept of energy recovery at the Michelin factory in Clermont-Ferrand.
