In the framework of the RES-DHC project, a workshop on heat planning as a key for the development of district heating networks was conducted, as district heating networks are an important instrument for the decarbonisation of the heat sector.
In order to build the necessary infrastructures and make the high investments, municipalities, operators and investors depend on a high degree of planning certainty. A broad-based and strategically long-term heat planning is a key to achieve this.
The workshop took place on 27 October 2021 in Zurich. Five experts were able to show ways and guidance on how successful heat planning can be implemented. The example of the city of Zurich was used to illustrate this and deepened in a group work. Around 20 interested participants attended this workshop.
All course documents, like the programme, presentations, group work tasks and flipcharts produced are available here.
The presentations (in German) can also be viewed on our YouTube channel.
