Thirty representatives of public infrastructure, heating network operators, engineering offices, regional planners, experts and financiers were informed about the RES-DHC project, discussing decarbonisation and the opportunities provided by the project.

On 11 December 2020, the first Strategic Committee (internally called RSAG – Regional Stakeholder Advisory Group) on heating and cooling sector in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (AURA) region took place as part of the European RES-DHC project. An overview of heating and cooling networks in the AURA region and a report on the European RES-DHC project were presented to the participants. Also, prospects of development were presented with the 5th generation networks by Delphine Bourdon from CEA-INES. One subject of debate was anergy loop projects developed in the AURA region. Furthermore, proposals for training courses provided by the RES-DHC consortium were mentioned, as well as the use of a cartographic tool entitled Terristory developed by AURA-EE.

In a second phase, constraints and levers in the field for the decarbonisation of heating and cooling networks were identified by the stakeholders in an online collaborative workshop. It was an interactive exchange between the stakeholders in the sector and the outcomes that allow private and public actors to benefit from this discussion forum. Many participants showed a strong interest in participating in the next working groups on the issues raised during this first meeting.
