‌

Dear readers,

In this newsletter we would like to inform you about the ongoing project activities within the RES-DHC model regions, but also beyond that about relevant topics regarding renewables in district heating and cooling systems.

RES-DHC is getting into action! At the beginning of 2022, the developed action plans were put into practice and each RES-DHC model region started with its measures for the transformation and decarbonisation of DHC based on the regional structures. Furthermore, we would like to share our online toolbox with you: The free tools are useful instruments to support decarbonisation processes at different levels.

Enjoy reading!

Spain: Solar district heating on the starting blocks

The Spanish solar district heating market is still in its infancy. Among the 500 DH systems in operation across the country totalling more than 1.6 GW only seven use solar heat, according to the Association of District Heating and Cooling Companies (ADHAC). The new Energy and Efficiency Building Rehabilitation Programme (PREE) aims to change this.
